1. Scope and consumer rights
This policy applies to course fees, membership subscriptions, assessments and certification services supplied by NoraJiks (Pty) Ltd trading as NJH Institute. It must be read with the applicable order, quotation and Terms and Conditions.
Nothing in this policy limits a remedy or cooling-off right that cannot lawfully be excluded under the Consumer Protection Act, the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act or other applicable law. Where the law gives a more favourable remedy, the law prevails.
2. Digital and self-paced courses
Before first access: you may request cancellation and a full refund before you first open, stream, download or otherwise access course content, provided the request is made within any applicable statutory cooling-off period or within 7 calendar days after purchase, whichever gives you the greater right.
After first access: once any course content has been accessed, the fee is ordinarily non-refundable because digital delivery has begun at your request. Access is recorded by the learning platform. This rule does not apply where a refund or other remedy is required by law, or where the service is materially defective, materially misdescribed, unavailable for an unreasonable period, or not supplied as agreed and we fail to remedy the issue within a reasonable time.
Failure to complete a course, lack of time, a change of mind after access, or failure to meet disclosed technical or entry requirements does not ordinarily create a refund right.
3. Live, facilitated or scheduled courses
A learner cancellation received at least 7 calendar days before the first scheduled session may be refunded, less reasonable, disclosed costs already incurred, or transferred once to another available date. A later cancellation or no-show is ordinarily non-refundable, although we may allow a substitute learner or transfer at our discretion if entry requirements are met.
If we cancel and cannot offer a reasonable alternative, you may choose a full refund of the affected fee or a credit. If we reschedule, you may accept the new date, transfer, or request a refund where the change is material and you cannot reasonably attend.
4. Membership fees
A membership application may be cancelled before approval and activation. Any refundable amount may be reduced by a reasonable, disclosed administration or verification cost already incurred. Once membership is activated and benefits are available, joining, application and annual membership fees are ordinarily non-refundable, subject to mandatory law and failure to provide the promised service.
To prevent a renewal charge, cancellation of an automatically renewing membership must be submitted before the renewal date shown in the notice or account. Cancellation stops future renewal and does not ordinarily refund the current active period.
5. Corporate and sponsored memberships
Corporate fees may comprise a fixed annual organisational fee plus employee membership fees, adjusted by the active employee-count pricing band. The applicable band is calculated from eligible linked or sponsored employees on the billing date or as stated in the quotation.
Reductions in employee numbers during an active annual period do not ordinarily create a retrospective refund. Additional sponsored employees may be billed or prorated under the quotation. If a pricing band changes, it applies from the next renewal or other effective date notified in advance, unless the parties agree otherwise in writing.
An employee leaving an employer may end sponsorship or employer access but does not automatically cancel the employee’s underlying individual record. Any transfer, continuation or balance treatment will follow the sponsorship agreement and recorded employee permissions.
6. Assessments and certifications
An assessment or certification fee may be cancelled before document review, scheduling, marking, verification or other substantive work begins, less reasonable costs already incurred. Once an attempt starts, a booking window closes, evidence review begins or a decision is issued, the fee is ordinarily non-refundable.
A failed assessment or unsuccessful application does not itself entitle the applicant to a refund where the process was properly delivered. Appeals and reassessments follow the published rules and may carry separate fees.
7. How to request a cancellation or refund
Email refunds@njholdings.co.za with your full name, account email, invoice or application number, service purchased, purchase date, reason and requested remedy. Do not send card numbers or banking passwords.
We will acknowledge the request and may ask for information needed to verify it. We aim to decide a complete request within 10 business days. Approved refunds are returned, where practical, to the original payment method within 7–14 business days after approval; banking and payment-provider processing times are outside our control.
8. Credits, promotions and third-party costs
A credit is not cash, is non-transferable unless stated otherwise, and expires on the date communicated. Promotional, bundled or discounted purchases are refunded based on the amount actually paid and the value already supplied. Non-recoverable third-party charges may be deducted only where lawful, reasonable and disclosed.
9. Disputes and chargebacks
Please contact us before initiating a payment dispute so we can investigate. A chargeback does not remove a valid payment obligation. We may provide the payment provider with relevant order, access and communication records. This does not limit your right to approach an applicable regulator, ombud, tribunal or court.
